The April 2027 edition of the Fields Medal Symposium will celebrate the work of Maryna Viazovska, who is a professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and heads its Mathematical Institute. She is also a member of the Board of International Counselors of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and a member of the International Academic Board at the Kyiv School of Economics. Together with a group of mathematicians of Ukrainian origin, Viazovska founded the International Centre for Mathematics in Ukraine and is actively participating in the establishment of the Centre.
