Abstract:
In this lecture, we will see the intrinsic relationship between entropic-regularized optimal transport and the matrix scaling problem.
We will also learn how invariant theory can be used to rigorously analyze the convergence of the natural alternate minimization algorithm for the matrix scaling problem, thereby giving us an efficient way to compute the entropic-regularized optimal transport.
