Storytelling for Mathematics
Description
Nurturing Mathematical Minds Through Multimedia Storytelling
Join us at the Fields Institute for an exciting session featuring a selection of videos from our Storytelling for Mathematics project with a discussion and Q+A!
*In 2021, we interviewed 31 mathematicians - their rich mathematical stories form a library of 90+ short videos for people of all ages. In this session, we share some of those stories, findings and implications for the public's engagement with math and K-16+ instruction, and invite you to share your own math stories and ideas for storytelling in classrooms, schools, and communities!
The project lead is Dr. Erica Walker at OISE, University of Toronto. For more information, email us at ctl.mathstorytelling@utoronto.ca
This program is being offered in collaboration with the Fields' Math in Literacy program (https://fieldsacademy.ca/math-in-books/)
