The mathematics of information technology: the road
ahead
Mathematics has been "unreasonably effective" in
helping to model the physical universe. It has also been very
effective in helping to address basic problems of information
technology. In this general talk, we will review some of these
and speculate on what the future might hold for the interaction
between mathematics and information technology.
