Overview

There is agreement among mathematics education community on the importance of integrating mathematics education research and mathematics teaching. However, there is similarly a widespread debate and discussion within the community about whether or not mathematics education research should or does inform mathematics teaching practice. It is in this context that the theme of the preconference is based on. The pre-conference will feature a keynote, panel and small group discussions.

3:00 - 3:30	Dragana Martinovic, University of Windsor (mathematics teacher education): How do we prepare mathematics teachers to integrate mathematics education research in their classroom?
3:30 - 4:30	Keynote speaker final comments, panellists' final comments, and whole group discussion
