Objectives 
Michel Waldschmidt is a pioneer of Transcendental Number Theory. On June
11, 2013, he will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Ottawa.
In celebration of this event, this 3 day workshop aims at gathering number
theory researchers from the Montreal-Toronto area. Some emphasis will be
given to Diophantine approximation, but many other areas of number theory
will be represented ranging from algebraic to analytic number theory.
