Computational Number Theory Workshop

April 30 - May 4, 1994

Coordinators:

H. Williams (University of Manitoba)
H. Lenstra, Jr. (University of California, Berkeley)
J. Shallit (University of Waterloo)

This workshop will be devoted to the general area of computational number theory, with a special emphasis on computational problems in elliptic curves, particularly point counting, along withtheir application to proimality testing; algebraic number theory algorithms (with particular attention to the interger factoring problem - Number Field Sieve and Lattice Sieve); and Grothendieck's dessins d'enfants. This list of topics is flexible due to the possibility of new discoveries.

Invited speakers include:

D. Bernstein (University of California, Berkeley)
J. Buchmann (University of Saarland)
J. Buhler (Reed College)
H. Cohen (Universite de Bordeau)
N. Elkies (Harvard University)
A. Granville (University of Georgia)
N. Koblitz (University of Washington)
H. W. Lenstra, Jr. (University of California, Berkeley)
J. Pila (Melbourne University)
C. Pomerance (University of Georgia)
R. Schoof (Universita degli Studi di Trento)
S. Vanstone (University of Waterloo)
