ALGEBRAIC MODEL THEORY PROGRAM

Graduate course on geometric model theory
taught by A. Pillay (U. of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana)

We will first study locally modular rank 1 types in general. This will then lead to the study the theory of fields with a generic automorphism with an aim to proving the dichotomy theorem of Chatzidakis and Hrushovski that rank 1 types are either stable and locally modular, or nonorthogonal to the fixed field (in characteristic 0).
