Abstract:
In this talk, I’ll try to give a sense of mirror symmetry for Fano varieties and its role in their classification by describing how mirror symmetry (in the sense of a matching of two sets of differential equations) works as concretely as possible in the case of toric varieties. I’ll start with recalling the fan construction of a toric variety, then describe the A side – quantum cohomology of a toric variety, and the B side – the Landau-Ginzburg model, giving each explicitly (if partially) for projective space.
