Abstract:
(Or, ``now for something completely different.'') Leaving the topic of variational models along a main exit, we discuss issues of pattern formation for reaction diffusion models with convection added into the mix. Depending on the underlying model, it turns out that behavior can range from the familiar real or complex Ginsburg Landau model to asymptotics more like KdV/Kuramoto Sivashinsky equations.
