In this talk, I will present a way in which an expansion in Kontsevich tree graphs naturally appears from the Poisson-geometric perspective of constructing a symplectic realization. This is based on joint work with B. Dherin. I will finally discuss the problem of extending such a Poisson-geometric construction to the full star product expansion (including graphs beyond trees).
