Abstract:
We will discuss how some important objects, such as rings, orders, and ideals in number fields, can be parametrized by binary forms. This will lead us to search for these objects by solving some Diophantine equations. We will present some results, mostly in cubic and quartic number fields, and make some conjectures about counting specific arithmetic objects by implementing tools from classical number theory.
