Abstract:
Higgs bundles are algebro-geometric objects with a surprisingly wide range of applications, including classical and quantum integrable systems, gauge theory, and representation theory.
In this talk we will describe the spectral theory of Higgs bundles as a natural generalization of the spectral theory for matrices and use this spectral theory to find a natural integrable system on moduli spaces of Higgs bundles.
